Villa Vacations in Playa Blanca
The year round benign climate that Lanzarote enjoys has made it a popular tourist destination over the last forty years. As the eastern most Canary Island it has an average of only twenty days rainfall per year, whilst day-time temperatures in winter hover around 20ºC.
This consistently good climate means that holidaymakers can visit pretty much any time of year and expect to see the sun for at least part of their stay. The island as a result has a wealth of outdoor activities for visitors to take part in. From hang-gliding to surfing and horse-riding, there is plenty to do and see.
Perhaps the best weather to be enjoyed on the whole island is that of Playa Blanca. Which is located at the southern most tip of Lanzarote, close to some of the best beaches in the whole archipelago. The Papagayo beaches, as they are known, are one of the reasons for the growth of Playa Blanca into a tourist resort. Whilst Playa Blanca is also home to a large range of luxurious Lanzarote holiday villas.
It is also handily situated for holidaymakers who feel like visiting the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, as ferry services operate all day between Playa Blanca and Corralejo. Much of Playa Blanca has been developed in the last ten years, making its tourist accommodation the most modern on Lanzarote.
And there is a great choice of accommodation to be found here. In particular, holiday villas in Playa Blanca are extremely popular. Partly because of their recent construction, but also because the standard of facilities offered as a result is much higher.
With their own private swimming pools and comfortable interiors, these villas aim to give visitors the best possible self-catering experience on the island. Which is not to say that the general level of accommodation in Lanzarote isn’t very good across all three resorts.
As in the older coastal towns that cater for tourists, there is also a pleasing mixture of apartments, villas and hotels. Puerto del Carmen’s holiday villas are by and large concentrated in an area known as Los Mojones, regarded as one of the more exclusive enclaves of the town.
Offering the same quality of accommodation, each villa provides its guests with a tranquil setting and a great deal of privacy. As most have walled gardens, behind which lie the swimming pools, sun terraces and outdoor dining spaces.
In the northern most resort, most of the self-catering accommodation is based in the centre of the town. Making the holiday villas in Costa Teguise within easy walking distance of the main beach at Las Cucharas.
