If you think you know golf then think again. You can’t truly understand golf until you have played the game in the land of its birth Scotland. Golf in Scotland is like golf nowhere else. The game came to lifew in the historic grounds of St Andrews, and to play the game as it was first envisioned you really need to play here. St Andrews has six different course that you can play, and as such is the largest complex of golf courses in Europe. The thing about golf in Scotland is that the courses are more wild than in any other country.

When the game was created there was no fairways, and no real greens. Just a place to start and a place to finish, and although golf in Scotland is nothing like this now, you still have that feeling of wildness in the courses. The rough areas are to be avoided at all costs, because retrieving your ball is more often than not a waste of time!

The other great thing about playing golf in Scotland is the welcome that you will receive. There is such a passion for the game up there that they welcome anyone wanting to experience the game with open arms.

Once you are done with the golf then Scotland is a wonderful place to be if you are a tourist visiting the country. Great cities, great food and more historic landmarks than most countries of a similar size, Scotland is a must for any golfer.
